The Colors We’re “Dyeing” For & the “Rainbow of Risks”…
Why are food dyes concerning? Studies have linked artificial food dyes to:
Hyperactivity, including ADHD.
Behavioral changes like irritability and depression.
Hives and asthma.
Tumor growth (three of the primary food dyes contain benzene, a known cancer-causing substance)

Red 40 (Allura Red):

Blue 1 (Brilliant Blue):

"UK ministers and the FSA recommended that UK manufacturers should remove six colour additives from their food by the end of 2009 " "The six colours are:

quinoline yellow (E104)
carmoisine(E122)
allura red (E129)
tartrazine (E102)
ponceau 4R (E124)"
Kraft, Coca Cola and Walmart have already removed these artificial food colors and dyes from the products that they distribute in other countries. They've reformulated their product lines in other countries and no longer include these food dyes, and they did it in response to consumer demand and an extraordinary study called the Southampton Study.
