How does HMTA testing differ from traditional bloodwork?

HMTA tests differ from blood work in the sense that it shows the minerals and vitamins intracellularly rather than outside the cells in the bloodstream. HMTA testing will also show mineral usage for the past 90 days and blood tests show just that snapshot moment in time - fasting bloodwork will differ from bloodwork taken when eating specific foods leading up to your appointment. With HMTA testing you do not need to worry about fasting or limiting carb intake to get accurate results. Combining your traditional bloodwork results with your HMTA results would give you the best overall picture of how your body is utilizing its minerals and where you may be depleted.

Nutrient Elements Tested in an HTMA: Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Copper, Zinc, Phosphorus, Iron, Manganese, Chromium, Selenium, Boron, Cobalt, Molybdenum, Sulfur

HTMA tests for 8 toxic metals in the body: Antimony, Uranium, Arsenic, Beryllium, Mercury, Cadmium, Lead, Aluminum

How it works:

When purchasing an HTMA test, you will receive a test in the mail that has a paper scale to know how much of your hair is needed for the lab to complete the test.

Frequently asked questions:
Can I get an HTMA test if I’m pregnant or nursing? Yes.
Can I get an HTMA test if I’m currently on birth control? Yes.
How much of my hair is being used? It’s about a heaping teaspoon - closest part to your scalp.
What if I just dyed my hair? It is recommended to wait 6-8 weeks after dying your hair for best results. You can even ask at your appointment for your hairdresser to cut it for you before they wash your hair.
Do I need to wash my hair before I cut it for the sample? Yes, it is best to wait 4-6 hours after you wash your hair. You will note what type of shampoo you use on the envelope so the lab knows what chemicals to look for specific to your shampoo when running your test.

***IF YOU SEND A SAMPLE FROM NY THE LAB WILL NOT RUN THE TEST. NY HAS LAWS IN PLACE WHERE THEY WILL ONLY ALLOW RESIDENCE TO RECEIVE HTMA TESTS FROM NY LABS. SEND ME AN EMAIL FOR SPECIFIC GUIDELINES REGARDING YOUR TESTS***
